NEW DELHI: Looks like Sony is set to take innovation in camera design to the next level. In a bid to tap the selfie crazy youth segment, the Japanese brand is all set to unveil a camera that is designed like a perfume bottle.
The pictures of the alleged Cyber Shot camera were first published on Weibo by DigiWo. A number of Chinese models and social media influencers are also posting pictures of the camera, that features a rotating lens encased in a transparent enclosure at the top, as per a report by Engadget.
According to a separate report by Japanese website Digicame Info, Sony is set to launch a new compact camera by the name of KW1. The leaked specifications of the camera indicate that it's designed for taking first person pictures. It featurs a 1/2.3-inch 19MP sensor and a 23mm f/2 wide angle prime lens. The camera is also likely to feature Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, and app compatibility for transferring images to smartphones.
Sony is hosting an event in China on August 22, where it may announce the perfume bottle-shaped camera.
