Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Beam 2 on its Chinese website, and like its predecessor the main highlight of the device is its built-in projector.

Samsung has introduced a new projector phone – Galaxy Beam 2. The new phone is listed company's China site without pricing and availability details. However, we expect it to be available globally by end of the second quarter of this year.



Successor to the Galaxy Beam, the new Beam 2 carries model number SM-G3858. The smartphone has a 4.66-inch WVGA display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor along with 1 GB of RAM. The projector phone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The Galaxy Beam 2 also features a 5MP rear camera and a secondary camera (resolution unspecified), microSD card slot and connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS/GLONASS. The smartphone measures 134.5 x 70 x 11.7 mm and weighs about 166 grams. A 2,600 mAh battery powers the device.
The main highlight of the smartphone is the built-in pico projector. The projector phone supports background color corrections and features a few dedicated applications such as Notepad and flashlight.
Samsung had launched its first Beam projector phone in India in 2012. Priced at Rs. 29,990, the Beam features 4-inch display, 5MP camera and 8GB of storage.
