Microsoft admits Windows 8 has had a slower start in comparison to Windows 7 in the past 15 months.
According to the company’s sale figures released on Thursday, Microsoft sold 100 million fewer licenses of Windows 8 than it had sold of Windows 7 in about the same amount of time.Market analysts speculate that the recent surge in demand of tablets has affected PC sales, which has subsequently affected sales of the latest Microsoft PC operating system.
Last month, the research firm, Gartner Inc. confirmed that Windows 8 had failed to boost the PC market. It also said that global PC shipments had declined by 4.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2014.
